Whether planning a retrofit or encountering an existing retrofit of a traditional building there are many issues and potential conflicts to take into consideration; either to prevent creating new problems for the building, or exacerbating existing problems, or to determine the current condition and performance of a building that has been subject to a retrofit.

Richard will share his practical experiences of both building conservation and retrofit of traditional buildings and take the delegates through a step-by-step approach of what to look for and what to take into account using real-life case studies.

The Masterclass will illustrate the need to understand the building and what this means in practice, which is central to the STBA Whole-house approach.
