Heritage & Research: bridging the gap

26 October 2016
London

The Heritage Alliance’s next Heritage Debate takes place on Wednesday 26 October 2016 in the Adelphi Suite, The Waldorf Hilton, Aldwych WC2B 4DD.  I do hope you’ll join us. This one explores how heritage research influences public and private sector decision-making – or not. Millions of choices are made every day while champions like The Heritage Alliance and its members need to access relevant and timely evidence to support our advocacy.

This debate will hear from experts with academic, property and political perspectives on how the transfer mechanisms work in practice and what might be done to strengthen them. Our Chairman, Loyd, will introduce the evening, before handing over to HLF Chief Executive Ros Kerslake (former Alliance Trustee) who will chair a panel of distinguished speakers: Dr Oliver Cox, University of Oxford’s Heritage Engagement Fellow; the seasoned campaigner Bernard Donoghue, Chairman of The Tourism Alliance (and THA Trustee) and regeneration expert Trevor Osborne, Chairman of  The Trevor Osborne Property Group.  The audience will be invited to contribute in the following Q&A session.

Registration is from 6.00pm and the Debate is followed by a reception in the wonderful Palm Court.  The event is free but registration is essential. Please book on Eventbrite

This eighth Heritage Alliance Heritage Debate is generously sponsored by Ecclesiastical Insurance. and held in partnership with TORCH | The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities
