Historic Environment for Scotland – Conservation Summer School

6 – 10 June 2016
Stirling

The Summer School provides a thorough introduction to building conservation, traditional building materials and skills. The week long course is taught through a combination of talks, workshops, field trips and hands-on activities. Delegates are introduced to building materials such as stone, lime and metal through both practical and theoretical sessions to understand how they work together to create the buildings which surround us, and are provided with the knowledge of how they should be treated to ensure they continue to last for generations to come. Lectures are given by our conservation staff at Historic Environment Scotland with a selection of guest lecturers also making appearances throughout the week. more….
