Cardiff

The Policy Forum for Wales aims to provide the premier environment for policymakers in the National Assembly for Wales, Welsh Government and government agencies to engage with key stakeholders in timely discussion on public policy issues in the areas that have been devolved to Cardiff Bay, or otherwise particularly affect Wales.

The Forum has in place a programme of consultation with members of the National Assembly for Wales, senior departmental officials, regulators, industry representatives, charities and action groups, professional bodies and academics, local government and others. We welcome input from any individuals or organisations with an interest in issues relevant to Wales.

Guests of Honour: Matthew Bell, Chief Executive, Committee on Climate Change and Matthew Quinn, Director, Environment and Sustainable Development, Welsh Government

Timed to follow the publication of the first State of Natural Resources Reportfrom Natural Resources Wales and coming ahead of the statutory National Natural Resources Policy, due to be published in Spring 2017, the seminar will focus on the future of environment policy in Wales.

Delegates will discuss challenges and opportunities for the sustainable management of Wales’ natural capital – including supporting biodiversity, marine conservation and land use management, along with strategies for reducing air pollution across Wales.

Further sessions will consider the role of Wales in international projects to tackle climate change, options for improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions in Wales, and proposals for adapting to a changing climate.
