About the speaker: Dr Kathryn Davies

Kathryn Davies, is a heritage and planning consultant who has been a Chartered Town Planner and qualified in conservation for over 35 years. She is a founder member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation. She has extensive experience of working in planning and conservation in local authorities and for Historic England. She is currently an independent consultant undertaking work in both the private and public sectors and she also sits on a number of design review panels.

Her doctoral research focussed on secular wall paintings of the late 16^th and early 17^th centuries and she has continued research on this subject over the last 25 years. She has lectured widely on secular wall paintings, and has a number of publications on the subject.

Dr Davies is a Visiting Fellow of Kellogg College, Oxford.
