IHBC East Anglia Branch – Conservation Engineering: The structural repair of historic buildings

Join the East Anglia Branch for a CPD training day exploring the topic of Conservation Engineering and the structural repair of historic buildings, minimising structural intervention. 

Norwich | 24 October 2024 | 9.30am – 4.30pm

The training will be delivered by Ian Hume, a former Head of Conservation Engineering at English Heritage and will consider the structural repair of historic buildings through minimal intervention and understanding how structures work. Topics will include structural inspection, temporary works, monitoring, load testing, floor loadings, cantilever stairs, jacking structures, service installation and strengthening timber beams. The branch AGM will be held after lunch for IHBC Members and there will be an optional guided tour of the interior of the Cathedral following the training.
