He was responsible for a handful of Scottish churches including the church of St Mary at Lochee &#8211; a remarkable Gothic Revival church, with asymmetrical presbytery, octagonal five chancel tower and rich embellishments within the body of the church.<\/p>\n<p>This talk aims to highlight the richness of Scottish architecture in the ecclesiastical world. It complements an in-person Church Maintenance Day being hosted at St Mary at Lochee the following week.<\/p>\n<h3>Who is this talk for?<\/h3>\n<p>This talk will be of interest to anyone who enjoys history and architecture. It may be of particular interest to those attending the free\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/howtocareforyourchurchwor.rsvpify.com\/?securityToken=98MKZtlFYrbU7hzHtzbINMXunUkLhknB\">How to Care for Your Church Workshop<\/a>\u00a0at St Mary\u2019s on 25 September, to explore the background of this beautiful church.<\/p>\n<h3>IT requirements<\/h3>\n<p>You will need a computer, phone or other device connected to the Internet.<\/p>\n<h3>Speaker<\/h3>\n<p>Our speaker is Dr Penelope Harris, who is currently writing a biography of Hansom.
