Historic, listed and traditionally constructed buildings present amazing opportunities to reduce energy use and take advantage of their low embodied carbon. But the buildings are vulnerable to inappropriate retrofit measures.\u00a0 In the worst cases these can lead to the deterioration of the building\u2019s structure and fabric, increasing heat loss through damp, mould and decay.\u00a0 This invaluable and timely training course highlights the issues and covers the most recent government and Historic England guidance, including the new editions of PAS 2030 and PAS 2035, which give updated guidance for traditional and protected buildings.<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">IHBC Toolbox on Retrofit<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Sustainable maintenance and repair that improve performance<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Applying standards such as BS7913, BS EN 16883, PAS 2035 and PAS2038<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Roles and responsibilities \u2013 different perspectives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"x_x_MsoNormal\"><b>Speaker:<\/b>\u00a0Professor John Edwards, MA, DipBldgCons, CEnv, FCIOB, FRICS, IHBC \u2013 Director of Edwards Hart Consultants\u00a0 &#8211; nationally renowned authority on sustainable retrofit<\/p>\n<p><b>Profile:<\/b> Director of Edwards Hart Consultants; Chair of the IHBC Technical Panel; RICS certified historic buildings expert; a CIOB Certified Building Conservation Specialist (Building Surveyor Practitioner); and accredited by the Institute of Historic Building Conservation.
