{"id":7450,"date":"2018-08-01T12:46:11","date_gmt":"2018-08-01T11:46:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ihbc.org.uk\/events\/?p=7450"},"modified":"2018-08-01T12:46:11","modified_gmt":"2018-08-01T11:46:11","slug":"the-building-limes-forum-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/events2600.live-website.com\/?p=7450","title":{"rendered":"The Building Limes Forum Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>7 &#8211; 9 September 2018<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Canterbury<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 2018 BLF Conference and Gathering, supported by\u00a0<strong>Roundtower Lime<\/strong>, will be held from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th September in Canterbury, England in association with Canterbury Cathedral.\u00a0 The conference has the theme of\u00a0<strong>Pozzolans, Additives and Natural Cements<\/strong>\u00a0and is dedicated to the memory of our past Chairman, Simon Swann (1956-2018).<\/p>\n<p>Canterbury was established by the Romans but is best known as the home of the Anglican communion.\u00a0Canterbury Cathedral was founded in 597 AD by St Augustine, the present building dates from Norman times.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.buildinglimesforum.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/CanterburyProgramme.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">conference programme<\/a>\u00a0consists of lectures in the morning and activities in the afternoon.\u00a0 The lectures on the Friday will concentrate on the theme of Pozzolans, Additives &amp; Natural Cements, those on the Saturday more on plastering, and the Sunday morning is a miscellany of short papers by members. The Friday afternoon will be spent within the Cathedral precincts with the Cathedral Workshops hosting demonstrations, hands-on activities and tours up the scaffolding.
