The course is\u00a0designed for photographers,\u00a0architects,\u00a0artists and academic researchers whose work\u00a0address notions of urban space and culture, the international Urban Photography Summer School provides a highly intensive two-week practical and theoretical training in key aspects of urban visual practice and research. The programme\u00a0aims to offer participants a wide range of relevant skills resulting in the production\u00a0of a photography portfolio drawn from London\u2019s urban environments along with\u00a0\u00a0a collective final exhibition at Goldsmiths\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ox-994fce0fa5-m_7099224578487374790x_x_x_MsoNormal\">\nThe Summer School has been developed in collaboration with the Centre for\u00a0Urban and Community Research (CUCR), Goldsmiths University London, the\u00a0Urban Photographers\u2019 Association (UPA),\u00a0UrbanPhotoFest and the International Association of Visual Urbanists (iAVU). The programme draws on the advanced theoretical, research and practical image-making specialisms of key practitioners<br \/>\nin the field, and will be taught by tutors from Goldsmiths\u2019 Sociology Department<br \/>\nand the international MA in Photography and Urban Cultures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ox-994fce0fa5-m_7099224578487374790x_x_x_MsoNormal\">Summer School tutors include: Paul Halliday (MA in Photography and Urban Cultures Course\u00a0Leader, Goldsmiths, UOL), Les Back (Goldsmiths, UOL),\u00a0Caroline Knowles (Goldsmiths, UOL), Mandy Lee Jandrell (Falmouth University), Peter Coles (Goldsmiths, UOL), Laura Cuch (Goldsmiths, UOL and UCL), Diego Ferrari (Kingston University), David Kendall (Goldsmiths, UOL) and Gill Golding\u00a0(Goldsmiths, UOL).<\/p>\n<p class=\"ox-994fce0fa5-m_7099224578487374790x_x_x_MsoNormal\">The programme will explore how the practice of urban image-making informs\u00a0the development\u00a0of\u00a0a reflexive and critical research perspective and will include assignments and guided fieldtrips in\u00a0London focusing on (1) Urban Landscapes\u00a0and Architectures, (2) Urban Materialities and Objects (3) Street-based\u00a0Photography, Performance and Portraiture.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ox-994fce0fa5-m_7099224578487374790x_x_x_MsoNormal\">The Summer School will take place from 13<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0\u2013 25<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0August\u00a02018<\/p>\n<p class=\"ox-994fce0fa5-m_7099224578487374790x_x_x_MsoNormal\">Application deadline is 30<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0June 2018 via:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/iupss.com\/application\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/iupss.com\/application\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"ox-994fce0fa5-m_7099224578487374790x_x_x_MsoNormal\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>13\u00a0\u2013 25\u00a0August\u00a02018 London The iUPSS International Urban Photography Summer School returns to Goldsmiths, University\u00a0\u00a0of London in August.
