19:00 \u2013 19:45 Walking Tour:<\/strong>\u00a0NEEACA guides will take us on a walking tour of key locations associated with African people\u2019s stories uncovered through the project.<\/p>\n

Please note:<\/strong> Owing to the topography of the city, a general level of fitness is required for the walking tour. Those not wishing to attend the tour will be well taken care of at Bessie Surtees House with the opportunity to peruse its 16th<\/sup>\u00a0and 17th<\/sup>\u00a0century interiors.<\/p>\n

Conservation is most often associated with our beloved historic buildings and areas, but the contributions made by people of all faiths, colours and backgrounds are just as important to our collective social and economic heritage. This first-class training event is relevant to conservation professionals and other disciplines. Learn about the history and contribution of notable people of African descent who, along with many other diverse groups, have not only contributed to the region\u2019s rich cultural diversity, but their lives are embedded into its fabric. It will cover IHBC philosophical and history competencies and more.<\/p>\n
