This training will be delivered in-person at the house, which is located in Southsea, Portsmouth, PO4 post code area. \u00a0It is a private residence. \u00a0 The full address and joining instructions will be given nearer to the date of the visit.<\/p>\n
The house is an updated terraced property which is very typical of those houses built in the boom era around 1900. \u00a0 It is a good example to learn from as it has many features and defects which are common to houses of the period and which are frequent questions for home buyers and owners. \u00a0 Of particular value to the training day is that much of the work already done to this house has not been done very well.<\/p>\n
This training is particularly guided towards those who are \u2018early career\u2019 surveyors and those who are still training \u2013 perhaps aiming towards AssocRICS, MRICS or RPSA qualifications. \u00a0 It will be of specific interest and value to those who are seeking to be residential surveyors or building surveyors.<\/p>\n
There are multiple defects to see and discuss.<\/p>\n
This visit will only be available to a small group. \u00a0 There is usually roadside parking outside and within just a few minutes walk.<\/p>\n
You will get to see the whole building and, as a group, we will discuss how a pre-purchase building survey might be undertaken on it and how repairs would best be undertaken. \u00a0 You will be within a safe and nurtured environment in a very small group of like-minded people. \u00a0 Use the opportunity to ask any questions that arise. \u00a0There is no such thing a silly question.<\/p>\n
By the end of the training you will be more confident and aware of..:<\/p>\n
It will be particularly suitable for those who have some limited experience of doing RICS Level 2 and Level 3 building surveys and want to know more about older buildings. \u00a0 It might also be suitable for more experienced surveyors who wish to broaden their knowledge of this period of architecture.<\/p>\n
This training is open and available to everyone. \u00a0Please do consider your own personal circumstances and your ability to use stairs and ladders.\u00a0 There may be uneven terrain. \u00a0Do let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments and we can discuss this further and try to adapt where possible.<\/p>\n
This is a private home. \u00a0We are not asking the owner to provide any catering facility. \u00a0We won\u2019t stop for a lunch break, as such, but you are, of course, welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks\/sandwiches.<\/p>\n
