Hosted by the STBA in collaboration with the IHBC

Join us for this online webinar as we explore the use of natural materials in the retrofit of traditional buildings, with a specific focus on building standards, regulations, compliance and certification.

During this highly informative session we will be joined by Professor John Edwards who will explore the system performance differences of modern and traditional buildings, and the the risks of applying modern materials & methods to traditional buildings, as well as the risk-based approach to retrofit and use of PAS-2035, PAS-2038 and more.

Anthony Gwynne will then discuss the Building Regulations and approved documents as they relate to the retrofit of traditional buildings, looking at independent certification schemes for materials and methods, and providing an overview of the Building Safety Act.

We will then be joined by Ruth Marie Mackrodt, who will walk us through the process of setting up as a new insulation supplier, from start up and product innovation through to supply chain integration, finding installers and specifiers.
