A special event for all interested in architecture and design featuring the work of John Seely and Paul Paget, the architects of St Faith’s Church, Lee on the Solent, their first major commission.

Our guest speaker is Dr Peter Forsaith from Oxford Brookes University who will provide us with an insight into the architectural designs by Seely and Paget that triggered a flurry of similar avant garde designs across our nation.

Seely and Paget:-

• were viewed as early practitioners of conservation architecture,
• melded traditional and contemporary styles and materials in their designs,
• and were one of the most noteworthy architectural firms of the interwar years.

Discover more about their design methodology and their connections with Portsmouth Cathedral, the Mulberry Harbours and the refurbishment and Art Deco development of Eltham Palace.
