A day of practical guidance which will lead you through the process of writing specifications for repairs to historic ironwork. This training event will unpick the sometimes daunting task of specifying methods and materials that are suitable for historic structures, helping you to produce unambiguous statements that address actual repair needs.
By the end of the day, with the additional support of our recently published booklet, you will be in a stronger position to create a specification document that is accurate, meaningful and fit for purpose. This training day will also assist those who need to read, understand and carry out the content of specification documents.

Aim of the day
To celebrate the launch of our latest guidance booklet on the subject of Writing Specifications, we are holding a training day on the subject with the aim of establishing & disseminating good practice in the procurement process for historic ironwork.
Who is it for?
All levels of experience and background are welcome. This day will be of interest to architects, surveyors, blacksmiths and other metalworkers, contractors, local authorities, commissioners and owners of ironwork – anyone who wants to gain a better understanding of the ironwork in their care.
